SUMMARY:Engaging with Aging in the Future Planning Process (webinar)
DESCRIPTION:As families plan for the future\, they will be engaging with the aging process as well. All members of the family are aging and with this comes things to consider for future planning. In this webinar\, you will learn about ways to promote the health of the individual with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) as they age\, retirement considerations\, and end of life planning along with supporting grief and loss. Information will be shared about interventions that have been developed to help families with future planning as they age. This is the last of three sessions in the webinar series. \nAbout the webinar series\nAdults with IDD are living longer and family future planning remains a vital focus. Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service\, in partnership with the Texas Council for Developmental Disabilities\, will host this webinar as part of their Aging and IDD: Family Future Planning Webinar Series. \nPresenters \n\nTamar Heller\, Ph.D. Distinguished Professor heads the Department of Disability and Human Development\, the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) and its University Center of Excellence in Developmental Disabilities.\nKatie Arnold is the Associate Project Director at the Institute on Disability and Human Development at UIC\, Illinois University Center of Excellence in Developmental Disabilities.\n\nAccommodations\nLive transcriptions will be provided for this webinar.
