There are times when emergency situations – that weren’t expected – develop quickly. In these cases, it’s a good idea to get alerts and notifications so you can respond safely.
However, most severe weather doesn’t come out of nowhere – it’s usually part of a system that is known ahead of time, sometimes days in advance. Paying attention to the weather and the news will create awareness of large weather systems that could produce severe, dangerous conditions. These weather systems could potentially disrupt support services and life-sustaining utilities for individuals with disabilities. You can use this extra time to prepare for what’s coming.
