Disaster Housing Advice

Posted on

Learn about your housing options if you experience a disaster. In this video, Noah Patton from the National Low Income Housing Coalition talks about what both homeowners and renters can do to prepare for disasters and how to find housing if a disaster occurs. The video covers the differences between short-term and long-term recovery housing, what type of assistance government agencies provide, how to avoid scams, and what documents to have ready so you can get assistance as fast as possible.

This video was part of Disaster Resilience Month. In March, Disability Rights Texas and Equal Justice Works teamed-up to spread awareness about disaster-related legal challenges and share resources for disaster preparedness and recovery efforts.
