We need your help to preserve the basic human rights of Texans with disabilities

A federal budget document leaked last week proposes major cuts to the U.S. Health and Human Services budget and includes complete elimination of two of our biggest federal grants. While this hasn’t happened yet, as an agency we must be prepared since these specific cuts would severely impact our ability to protect and advocate for Texans with developmental disabilities and mental illness.

Also, we recently unexpectedly lost additional funding that supports work that our federal grants do not. And honestly, we don’t know what other funding might end up on the chopping block in the months to come.

While the donations you have generously given in the past have been absolutely crucial in supplementing our dwindling federal funding the past several years, we’re going to need your support now more than ever. We need your help to cover the current and potential shortfalls we face.

For individuals who can give, please consider a $100 or more donation. Law firms and other businesses, please consider a $1,000 or more donation to help us continue our vital work.

If you can’t give monetarily, you can still help by sharing our donation links with others who might be able to give. You can also help by following us on social media and liking, commenting and sharing our posts so we reach more people.

If you will do whatever you can, you’ll be part of a community of people throughout our nation who are committed to ensuring the human rights of people with disabilities are preserved.
