Every day, all year long

Freedom. Choice. Dignity. Power.

We use these words often when we talk about disability rights. And we’ve probably all heard these words more frequently in the past few weeks as we celebrate Disability Pride Month and the upcoming Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) anniversary on July 26.

But these words only become a reality in the lives of Texans with disabilities when we all do our part.

Disability Rights Texas is honored to work every day of the year with all of you – our clients, partners, and supporters – to ensure that our Texas neighbors with disabilities can exercise their rights, access opportunities, and participate fully in their communities.

Lately as we’ve shared news about ongoing disability rights issues, we keep hearing the question, “What can I do to help?”

So we’ve come up with a few simple but important ways you can show your disability pride and take action all year long:

  • Learn more about disability rights, accessibility, and the barriers people with disabilities continue to face.
  • Volunteer your time and talents to strengthen disability rights efforts in your community.
  • Donate whatever you can (even $10 makes a difference) so more Texans with disabilities can get the help they need to exercise their rights.

Progress happens because people choose to get involved. Whether you take one small step or many, your actions can help create a Texas where everyone has the freedom to make their own choices, the dignity of being treated with respect, and the power to build the life they want.

This Disability Pride Month, don’t just celebrate disability rights – help make them a reality.

Every action matters.
